What’s the difference between the successful people out there and the ones who struggle with life?
One major distinction is their mindset.
It’s the way how they perceive the world and how they manage their thoughts.
We all have negative things happening to us in life, and we also have negative thoughts popping up in our heads frequently.
Every person on this planet has negative experiences and negative thoughts.
The difference between the ones who live in abundance is what they do with their thoughts and how they act in life despite the circumstances they are in.

A person with an abundance mindset is characterized by being enough and having enough in life.
People with an abundance mindset appreciate who they are and what they have in life.
Having an abundance mindset isn’t related to the amount of money someone has in their bank account.
There could be for example a person with a little income having an abundance mindset always happy for others’ success and with the willingness to share what they have.
On the other side, there could be a millionaire constantly feeling the lack of not being and not having enough and feeling miserable, stingy and competitive.
Abundance has nothing to do with the amount of money you have. It’s a state of mind.
This is the book you should read if you want to learn how to create abundance in your life regardless of how much money you have in your bank account.
WHAT YOU THINK MATTERS
The real difference between a person with an abundance mindset vs one with a scarcity mindset is how they perceive things and how they manage their thoughts.
People with an abundance mindset appreciate what they already have in life.
The thought of not having enough love, time, money, appreciation, or whatsoever is not present in their mind.
They firmly believe that there are enough resources for anyone in this world to live a happy life and they are happy with what they already have.
You can train your brain for abundance by practicing gratitude on a regular basis.
FOCUS ON YOUR ASSETS
When you live with an abundance mindset you are focusing on the assets you already have in your life instead of what’s missing.
I’m not solely talking about material possessions but also about assets like your mind, your knowledge, your health, quality of relationships, and your time.
From an abundant state of mind, you believe that the world has endless possibilities and opportunities for everyone.
Therefore you aren’t competitive or jealous of other people’s success.
You celebrate with them instead.
You trust yourself enough to know that you can have what it takes to live in abundance right now as well.
Not tomorrow when you reach your goal x or next week when you reach your goal y, but today with what you already have right now.
You show your appreciation and gratitude towards your life and towards others every day.
Having a scarcity mindset, on the other hand, is when someone is focusing on the negative.
People with a scarcity mindset love to strongly exaggerate when something doesn’t work out for them the way they planned to.
They also love to self-pity themselves in these situations and they usually are characterized by a victim mindset.
While everyone in this world is experiencing negative things people with a victim mindset tend to see the world from a “poor me” kind of perspective.
SELF LIMITING BELIEFS
They have strong self-limiting beliefs and aren’t happy for anyone else’s success in the area where they have their limiting beliefs.
Instead of cooperation and win-win, they tend to think in competition and scarcity.
Having a scarcity mindset can come in different forms.
SCARCITY THOUGHTS AND BELIEFS
You could have for example scarcity thoughts around money.
And think that you never had a lot of money in the past and therefore you’ll never be able to become a millionaire.
I personally had a lot of self-limiting beliefs around money as well.
So don’t feel ashamed to have any kind of self-limiting beliefs.
We all do have some. That’s normal.
However, if you recognize that you have a self-limiting belief in a certain area of your life and want to switch towards an abundance mindset it’s important that you start working on it.
For me, it was reading different books about money and purchasing a course entirely dedicated to money mindset.
Of course, it’s not enough to just detect the self-limiting belief and to gain knowledge around the topic.
It’s also important to implement what you’ve learned in your life and to establish new habits so you can drop the scarcity thinking around the topic.
Questions you can ask yourself:
Which self-limiting beliefs keep me stuck in a scarcity mindset?
What can I do to switch those towards abundance?
Which habits do I need to form or change to go from scarcity towards abundance in that specific area of my life?
HOW TO SWITCH FROM SCARCITY TO ABUNDANCE MINDSET
1. DETECT YOUR LIMITING BELIEFS
First of all, identify your personal limiting beliefs.
Think about what these beliefs brought you in life.
Where were these negative beliefs leading you?
How can you change them?
2. DISSOLVE YOUR LIMITING BELIEF
Take action in the direction you want to be more successful in even if it feels uncomfortable.
Let’s say you want to have more money in your life.
Then you can start to be conscious of your spending behavior by budgeting and meal planning & decide to either spend less or to make more money.
You can start educating yourself about this topic by reading books, taking courses, or going to seminars.
In case it’s a deep-rooted self-limiting belief keeping you stuck, you can also get coached on this certain topic.
3. CHANGE YOUR HABITS AND TAKE ACTION
There is a great quote from Albert Einstein saying
“If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.”
That being said if you want to change your mindset from scarcity to abundance you have to make changes in your life.
By changing your thoughts and habits and by taking action continuously towards your goal.
4. BE GRATEFUL FOR WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE
Start appreciating what you already have in your life.
The best way to do so is by practicing gratitude.
Make it part of your morning or evening routine.
Besides practicing gratitude make sure to educate yourself on the topic you want to master.
5. LEARN ABOUT THE TOPIC YOU WANT TO MASTER
Choose a coach you want to learn from, preferably someone who already has what you want in life, and learn from them.
Apply what they are teaching and dig into the material they are offering until you embody what they teach.
You can start with free blog posts, youtube videos, and podcasts and dive deeper with paid products.
