Although my journey towards personal development started 20 years ago, the first time I heard about Lisa Nichols was in 2009 by reading the book called the secret.
Which you definitely should go check out if you haven’t so far.
I rediscovered her back in 2014 and started watching her youtube videos, listening to her audiobooks and taking part in her online training regularly until today.
Lisa Nichols is one of the mentors I’m listening to for years and can’t get tired of her message and her stories.
She has a uniquely positive, natural charm and contagious high spirits.
I love listening to her teachings. Her latest book is called abundance now.
In this post, I share with you 4 main lessons I learned from this amazing woman that shaped my life and might rock your world, too.

YOUR PAST DOESN’T DEFINE YOUR FUTURE
This one is a huge lesson I learned from her.
Before I used to think that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer and nothing can be done to change that.
It’s just the way how we are born and either we are lucky and are born with a lot of resources or unfortunate and have limitations on how far we can get in life.
But by listening to Lisa I realized that there is an in-between.
We are the creators of our own future and we define our limits.
We can aim for the stars and give us the chance to be successful in life or we can stop and set ourselves limits before we even get started.
Lisa started her business as a single mom, with no money, and by being on government assistance.
She could have taken the easy road and continue her story the way it started.
But instead, she rewrote her entire story and didn’t let her past define her future.
From being broke she created a multi-million dollar business.
It surely wasn’t easy for her but she has proven that it can be done.
No matter where you are in life right now, you can achieve great results in the future.
The first person who needs to believe that it can be done must be yourself!
IT’S POSSIBLE TO START WITH NOTHING
This is the second profound lesson I’ve learned from her.
You don’t need to have money to get started.
All your future success starts in your head.
What you think and what you believe will ultimately influence the way how you will act.
You have to work on your mindset first.
Probably it’s hard to get started without any guidance if you don’t know what to do.
The good news is that all the amazing coaches and mentors you can learn from are available to you right now.
It’s not as hard to connect with them as it was 10 years ago. In fact today it’s super easy!
So whenever you are saying to yourself that you don’t have the money to invest in a coach or to attend an event or to purchase a product that might help you get closer to your goal it’s just an excuse you are making and a limitation you set for yourself.
You don’t have to spend any money and you don’t need to meet them in real life to get started.
Your success story can start by reading a book from the public library, and by applying what you’ve learned.
Besides the library as a source for immense knowledge and information, there are also other ways you can get inspired.
There are blog posts you can read, youtube videos you can watch, podcasts you can listen to. All free of charge for you to get started.
Down the road, I recommend investing in yourself by purchasing products, going to live events, taking online courses and coaching sessions.
Just like with regular University.
Depending on which skills you want to master you dive deeper into the topic and invest your time, money and energy to learn it.
But for getting started you can make use of the materials that are available for free to you right now.
SMALL ACTIONS WILL LEAD YOU TO GREAT RESULTS
The actions you are taking each day are ultimately influencing the course of your life.
It’s depending on you how you are structuring your day, how you are spending your money, and what you are doing in your free time.
Lisa had several jobs and started to save every penny she could to fund her dream life while caring for her son.
She learned to delay her desires and focused on her long-term goals instead.
Working more, saving money, and eating simple foods were three of her ways of getting started.
The fact that she couldn’t afford to have fancy dinners each night didn’t let her stop to dream big.
One day she could – and yes today she can have all the fancy things she wants to.
Know what you want to have long term and work towards this goal every day.
Don’t belittle yourself for the fact that you aren’t there yet and don’t dwell in self-pity.
Believe in yourself and take action every day to make your dream life come true.
Know that your small continuous actions will give you great results in your future life.
WHERE THERE’S A WILL THERE’S ALSO A WAY
Whenever you want to reach a goal so badly that your soul is on fire you will find a way to make it happen.
Lisa didn’t have much money in the past but wanted to attend conferences where she could learn from the masters of the industry.
So she made sure to work at the conference, at the beginning not as a speaker.
This way she could listen to the speakers for free and make money while working there.
You see it in this example that the saying where there’s a will there’s also a way is true.
If you are struggling to find the way to your goal start asking your brain smart, solution-oriented questions.
“How can I attend the conference without spending money on it?”
Our brain loves smart questions.
It loves to work and to come up with creative solutions.
By asking your brain solution-oriented questions you tap into the right, creative side of your brain.
It can take a few days until you come up with a solution, but if you keep asking you’ll probably get the answer from yourself within a couple of days.
